Adoration & Praise
The First Place (Westerholm)
Fairest Lord Jesus (Seiss, and Hoffman von Fallersleben)
Call to Confession: Galatians 1:3-9
"Grace to you and peace from God our Father
and the Lord Jesus Christ,
who gave himself for our sins to deliver us from the present evil age,
according to the will of our God and Father,
to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.
I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you
in the grace of Christ
and are turning to a different gospel—
not that there is another one,
but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ.
But even if we or an angel from heaven
should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you,
let him be accursed.
As we have said before, so now I say again:
If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received,
let him be accursed."
Shine into Our Night (Sczebel)
Gospel & Thanksgiving
Assurance of Pardon: Galatians 3:16, 20
"Now the promises were made to Abraham
and to his offspring.
It does not say, “And to offsprings,”
referring to many,
but referring to one,
“And to your offspring,”
who is Christ."
"Now an intermediary implies more than one,
but God is one."
My Hope is Built on Nothing Less [The Solid Rock] (Mote and Stainer)
Sermon Text: Romans 10:1-4
"Brothers, my heart's desire and prayer to God for them
is that they may be saved.
For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God,
but not according to knowledge.
For, being ignorant of the righteousness of God,
and seeking to establish their own,
they did not submit to God's righteousness.
For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness
to everyone who believes."
