This is Our God [Fournier, Plank, Romancce, Degraide & Jones]

Adoration & Praise

All Creatures of Our God and King [Baird, Baird, Draper & St. Francis of Assisi]

Confession

Call to Confession: Genesis 6:5-6; Joel 2:12-14

[Leader]
The Lord saw that the wickedness
of man was great in the earth,
and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart
     was only evil continually.

[All]
And the Lord regretted that he had made man on the earth,
and it grieved him to his heart.

[Leader]
“Yet even now,” declares the Lord,
“return to me with all your heart,
with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning;
and rend your hearts and not your garments.”

[All]
Return to the Lord your God,
for he is gracious and merciful,
slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love;
     and he relents over disaster.

[Leader]
Who knows whether he will not turn and relent,
and leave a blessing behind him,
a grain offering and a drink offering
     for the Lord your God?

Lord Have Mercy (For What We Have Done) [Boswell, Keyes & Papa]

Gospel and Thanksgiving

Assurance of Pardon: Jeremiah 32:38-41, Romans 6:17-18

[Leader]
I will give them one heart and one way,
that they may fear me forever,
for their own good
and the good of their children after them.

[All]
I will make with them an everlasting covenant,
that I will not turn away from doing good to them.

[Leader]
And I will put the fear of me in their hearts,
that they may not turn from me.

[All]
I will rejoice in doing them good,
and I will plant them in this land in faithfulness,
With all my heart and all my soul.

[Leader]
But thanks be to God,
that you who were once slaves of sin
Have become obedient from the heart
to the standard of teaching to which you were committed,

[All]
And, having been set free from sin,
     have become slaves of righteousness.
