Come Behold the Wondrous Mystery (Boswell)

Adoration & Praise

Behold Our God (Sovereign Grace)

The First Place (Westerholm)

Scripture Reading: Psalm 36:1-3

“Transgression speaks to the wicked
deep in his heart;
there is no fear of God before his eyes.”

“For he flatters himself in his own eyes
that his iniquity cannot be found out and hated.
The words of his mouth are trouble and deceit;
he has ceased to act wisely and do good.”

Gracious Father,
Your Greatness is unmatched and unparalleled!
Thank you that we have beheld your wondrous mystery.
 You glory is revealed to the very depths of our hearts,
          Our hearts that were darker than the deepest part of the ocean.
We confess that we have done what is right in our own eyes,
          And our sin is so deeply rooted that we do not fear You.
But you, O Lord, seated in all of your Glory,
          See a people you have created and loved,
And you extend a depth of mercy that no one can fathom.
Your searching eyes have seen the depth of our sin,
And yet, we are set free by the depth  of your love.
May you receive glory as our creator, our king, and our substitute.
We pray all of this in your precious and holy name, Amen.

Gospel & Thanksgiving

Scripture Reading: Micah 5:2,4-5a

“But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah,
who are too little to be among the clans of Judah,
from you shall come forth for me
one who is to be ruler in Israel,
whose coming forth is from of old,
from ancient days.”

“And he shall stand and shepherd his flock in the strength of the LORD,
in the majesty of the name of the LORD his God.
And they shall dwell secure, for now he shall be great
to the ends of the earth.
And he shall be their peace.
