God's actions in the book of Exodus are directed towards rescuing, restoring and taking a people to himself. it is through the telling of this account in Exodus that all people, both Jew and Egyptian, will know that, "...I am the Lord when I stretch out my hand..." (Ex. 7:5). Through this series in Exodus we will see that God is not a distant and disinterested Deity. He is a Holy, powerful God who draws near to his people and lives with them. He has a plan for his people as he tenderly blesses them and leads them into deliverance. As with the Jews under slavery, so it is today, God is calling his people, "Out of Egypt."
